What do I need to send?
A listing link or screenshots, the asking price and clear photos of the whole bike, drivetrain, frame, fork, wheels and any damage. Add a frame number and relevant seller answers if available. Crop out addresses, faces and unrelated personal information.
What’s the difference between the two checks?
Quick Check helps you decide whether a listing deserves a closer look. Full Bike Check adds detailed visible condition, potential parts and labour, a Day-1 budget and a more detailed fair-price and negotiation range. Neither includes a physical inspection.
Can you tell if a bike is stolen?
A database search may identify a recorded stolen bike when a usable frame number and database access are available. It cannot prove legal ownership or cover every stolen bike. If a search cannot be completed, the report says so. Ask for ownership evidence and use BikeRegister’s free BikeChecker as one part of your checks.
Can photos show whether a carbon frame is safe?
No. Carbon damage can be hidden internally, and an apparently unmarked frame is not a safety guarantee. Crash history, physical inspection and specialist assessment where appropriate matter. A listing assessment cannot certify a carbon frame or fork as safe.
How accurate are repair and value estimates?
They are budgeting ranges, not workshop quotes or guaranteed selling prices. Compatibility, actual wear, local labour, parts availability and unseen damage can change the total. The Full Check should distinguish likely items, conditional items and unknowns, with sources and assumptions in the report.
Will a person review my report?
The planned Full Bike Check includes human sign-off. A completed report will identify its reviewer and review date. The report on this page is an illustrative demo and has not received an expert assessment. Reviewer credentials and service turnaround will be confirmed before orders open.
Which bikes is this for?
The launch offer focuses on road, gravel and mountain bikes. Suspension condition, bearings, brakes and other mechanical systems may need hands-on checks. E-bike battery health, motor diagnostics and electrical safety require an appropriate specialist; these are outside this remote assessment.
